Job summary

ECU Health Outer Banks Hospital in the Outer Banks region of North Carolina is seeking a registered nurse to join the care team. The role involves providing high-quality nursing care, performing assessments, and coordinating plans of care with patients and families.

Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team is essential to meet patient needs during the episode of care. Requirements include NC RN licensure (or Compact state), BLS certification, and at least 1 year of acute care experience.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure in a compact state.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.
• At least 1 year experience in acute patient care setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in accordance with NC Board of Nursing, ANA standards, and ECU Health policies.
• Coordinate nursing care, assess data, set outcomes, and develop a plan of care with patient/family.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team; delegate tasks as appropriate within policy.

Job description

Position Summary

Responsible to provide care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures and professional standards of care/practice.

Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care to include the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes and development of plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. Identifies interventions to attain expected outcomes, implements the interventions identified in the plan of care, evaluates the progress of the patient/family toward attainment of outcomes, and documents the process. This care includes sensitivity to age specific and unique needs of the patient/family.

Promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team. Collaborates with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care. Delegates tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.

Minimum Requirements

• Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.
• At least 1 year experience in acute patient care setting is required.

Clinical Ladder

Pay Range

$33.00 - $51.98

Final compensation will be based on career ladder placement.

Other Information

• Position 0.03 FTE, 12 hour shifts
• Shift: Days, evenings and weekends - must be available for 3 shifts per six weeks.

The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season.
