Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Out Patient Services department. The role provides direct patient care within the scope of practice, coordinating with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to ensure safe, efficient patient flow during 10-hour day shifts.

This full-time position requires an active RN license in Illinois, BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, with preference for BSN and acute-care experience.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• ACLS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• PALS 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience; preferred.
• Moderate Sedation competency completed within 30 days upon hire.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the Out Patient Services setting.
• Coordinate care with the surgeon/anesthesiologist and other staff.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians and team.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, standards, and hospital policies.
• Participate in Performance Improvement activities and in-services.
• Serve as a resource for staff as appropriate.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of practice in the Out Patient Services setting. The Registered Nurse communicates with physicians, / Director of Surgical Services, House Supervisor and co-workers, as appropriate about changes in the patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. The Registered Nurse is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. The Registered Nurse coordinates the care of the patient with the surgeon and/or anesthesiologist, directs and guides and other personnel while maintaining standards of care within the Out Patient Department. Works with other departments and co-workers to provide quality patient care across the continuum, efficient patient flow and unit maintenance and organization. Responsible for adherence to regulations, standards and hospital or unit policies and procedures. Responsible for participation in Performance Improvement activities, unit meetings and in-services. Acts as a resource for other personnel as appropriate

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
