Job summary

Harris Regional Hospital - A Duke LifePoint Hospital in North Carolina is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Surgery unit. This full-time Day shift role includes a $15,000 sign-on bonus and a diverse case mix across General Surgery, OB/GYN, Orthopedics and more.

You will assess patients, initiate appropriate nursing interventions, document care, and contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan while delivering safe, high-quality care in a busy perioperative setting.

Qualifications

  • Current North Carolina or compact RN license.
  • Associate degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • BLS required; ACLS & PALS within 6 months.
  • One year of RN experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accurate patient assessments and identify needs.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Provide care appropriate to condition and age of patient.
  • Document medical necessity in the medical record.
  • Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
  • Perform timely and accurate QI assessments.

Job Type: Full Time | Days

$15,000 Sign-On Bonus for Day Shift with a 2-year commitment

Schedule: 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts.

More About Our Team

Join our growing team! Our surgical department is made up of a 14 bed Pre-op, 4 bay PACU and 6 Operating Rooms. With dedicated Surgeons, Nurses and OR Assistants, you will gain experience in areas such as General Surgery, OB/GYN, Ortho/Sports Medicine, ENT, Urology, Bronchoscopies, Dental Extractions and Peds Dental Restorations.

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
  • Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
  • Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
  • Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
  • Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for
Requirements

Applicants should have a current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
