Job summary

Hillsboro Medical Center in Hillsboro, OR is seeking a Registered Nurse for the PCU to deliver high-quality care to acutely ill patients in a 15-bed unit with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio.

You will assess needs, plan and document care, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, and adapt to changing patient conditions while maintaining compassionate, patient-centered care. Relocation assistance up to $15,000 is available and pay is $49.34–$74.08 per hour.

Qualifications

  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
  • ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire
  • Experience in acute care nursing

  • Participates in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and conflict management skills
  • Uses a systematic process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in delivery of care by collaborating with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team through care plans
  • Adapts care to accommodate unexpected changes in patient status. Communicates patient needs and changes in condition to physician, team members and/or family as necessary
  • Provides compassionate care for patients during challenging periods or transitions in life or lifecycles with respect and dignity

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

About The Department
  • The Medical Progressive Care Unit is a 15-bed unit with a 1:3 Nurse to Patient ratio
  • W ith this focus on patient centered care, you will have more bandwidth to provide a holistic care approach
  • In our unit, you'll develop a broader nursing skill set and encounter a wider variety of cases compared to other units
  • Our patient demographic is highly mixed and diverse

The Registered Nurse for PCU ensures the delivery of quality nursing care for acutely ill patients in accordance with age-related and individual needs, physician’s orders, hospital policy, standards of care and nursing practice. Responsible for assessing the needs of patients, planning nursing care to meet those needs, and ensuring that the plan of care is carried out and documented according to the principles defined in the nursing process. Participates in the development of progressive care unit goals.

Required Qualifications
