Novant Health’s Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Pulmonary Progressive Care unit on a full-time, day-shift schedule (7am-7pm). This collaborative unit cares for pneumonia, COPD, pulmonary embolism, and other respiratory conditions, offering growth in a fast-paced environment.

You will gain hands-on experience with tracheostomies, ventilators, CPAP/BIPAP, and chest tubes while focusing on early intervention and proactive patient monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • One year of acute nursing experience required.
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state; BLS required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.
  • Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen and ventilatory needs.
  • Manage specialized skills including tracheostomy and ventilated patient care; CPAP/BIPAP and chest tube management.
  • Advanced respiratory assessment and intervention.

What You'll Do
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, including COPD, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, influenza, and respiratory failure
  • Perform focused respiratory assessments and intervene early for patients with escalating oxygen and ventilatory needs
  • Manage specialized skills including:
    • Tracheostomy and ventilated patient care
      CPAP/BIPAP and heated high-flow oxygen therapy
      Chest tube management
      Administration of blood products and select IV drips
  • Advanced respiratory assessment and intervention
  • Tracheostomy and ventilated patient management
  • CPAP/BIPAP & heated high flow oxygen therapy
  • Chest tube care and respiratory device management
What We're Looking For
  • Education:
    - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
    - 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
    - If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience:One year of acute nursing experience required.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration:
    - Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
    -Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Red Cross or American Heart Association required.
