MedStar Franklin Square in Baltimore, MD is seeking an Experienced Psychiatric Nurse to join the Psychiatric Crisis Unit for night shifts in part-time and full-time roles. You will provide skilled, compassionate care across a spectrum of needs, assess evolving conditions, and collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement care plans.

This fast-paced unit treats both pediatric and adult patients and maintains strong security partnerships with the Main ED.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing.
• 1+ years of RN experience required. For PRN roles, at least 2+ years of inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred. For the part-time role, at least 1+ years of inpatient psychiatric RN experience highly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.

Psych Crisis Stabilization Unit Highlights

10-bed busy specialized psychiatric emergency unit, located within the main medical ED

Treats pediatric and adult patients

Security has a strong partnership and presence with the unit and Baltimore County officer stationed with the Main ED

Staffed with psychiatric counselors and RNs

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
