Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking an experienced psychiatric nurse for a part-time night shift on the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health unit at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center in Baltimore, MD. This 11-bed unit serves 11–17 year-olds with family-based therapy and an autonomous, cross-trained nursing team.

The role offers two 12-hour night shifts per week, competitive hourly pay, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.

• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.

Unit Highlights

11 bed unit serving 11-17 year-olds

Staffed with RNs and psychiatric counselors

Heavily based on family therapy

Highly functional and autonomous team

Cross-training to Psychiatric ED and Adult Inpatient Psychiatric unit

Available Role: PT Nights (two 12-hour shifts per week)

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
