Job summary

MedStar Health's Franklin Square Medical Center seeks an experienced psychiatric nurse for a part-time night shift in the Child and Adolescent Inpatient Behavioral Health unit. The 11-bed unit cares for 11-17 year-olds with a family-therapy focused approach, on a highly autonomous team.

The role involves providing skilled nursing care, assessing patients, and coordinating care with the nursing team; two 12-hour night shifts per week with cross-training opportunities in Psychiatric ED and Adult

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Prior Clinical Nursing Experience preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex.
• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans.

Unit Highlights

11 bed unit serving 11-17 year-olds

Staffed with RNs and psychiatric counselors

Heavily based on family therapy

Highly functional and autonomous team

Cross-training to Psychiatric ED and Adult Inpatient Psychiatric unit

Available Role: PT Nights (two 12-hour shifts per week)

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
