Job summary

MedStar Franklin Square seeks an Experienced Psychiatric Nurse for the Psychiatric Crisis Unit, with part-time and full-time night positions. The unit treats pediatric and adult patients in a 10-bed setting, with strong security partnerships and a team of RNs and counselors.

Shifts include PRN options and potential orientation to full-time hours. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, creating care plans, and collaborating with the nursing team to deliver compassionate care.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1+ years of RN experience required. For PRN roles, 2+ years inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred. For part-time role, 1+ years inpatient psychiatric RN experience highly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across routine to highly complex needs.
• Assess evolving patient conditions, identify health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans; coordinate with nursing team.

About the Job

MedStar Franklin Square is seeking an Experienced Psychiatric Nurse to join the Psychiatric Crisis Unit in part-time and full-time night positions.

Psych Crisis Stabilization Unit Highlights

• 10-bed busy specialized psychiatric emergency unit, located within the main medical ED
• Treats pediatric and adult patients
• Security has a strong partnership and presence with the unit and Baltimore County officer stationed with the Main ED
• Staffed with psychiatric counselors and RNs

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team
