Job summary

MedStar Franklin Square is seeking an Experienced Psychiatric Nurse to join the Psychiatric Crisis Unit in night positions, available part-time and full-time. This busy 10-bed unit treats pediatric and adult patients within the ED, with strong partnerships with security.

You will join a team of RNs and psychiatric counselors providing comprehensive care. The role offers strong nursing benefits, tuition assistance, relocation support, and generous PTO with flexible scheduling options.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing.
• 1+ years of RN experience required; inpatient psychiatric experience preferred for some shifts.
• Active MD RN License or Compact State RN and BLS for Healthcare Providers.

Responsibilities

• As a Clinical Nurse, provide skilled, compassionate care and develop care plans for patients and families.
• Assess evolving conditions and coordinate interventions with the nursing team.

MedStar Franklin Square is seeking an Experienced Psychiatric Nurse to join the Psychiatric Crisis Unit in part-time and full-time night positions.

Psych Crisis Stabilization Unit Highlights

• 10-bed busy specialized psychiatric emergency unit, located within the main medical ED
• Treats pediatric and adult patients
• Security has a strong partnership and presence with the unit and Baltimore County officer stationed with the Main ED
• Staffed with psychiatric counselors and RNs

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs—from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 1+ years of RN experience required. For PRN roles, at least 2+ years of inpatient psychiatric experience strongly preferred. For the part-time role, at least 1+ years of inpatient psychiatric RN experience highly preferred. Orientation may need to be full-time hours.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

This position has a hiring range of USD $36.50 - USD $60.34 /Hr.
