Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking an RN for the Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males) with night shifts. The role offers a sign-on bonus and a competitive hourly rate of $35.35–$53.58, plus a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current State RN license.
• Current BLS certification on hire.
• Knowledge of Mental Health laws and practice standards.
• Experience in inpatient behavioral health units is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions.
• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor patient condition and document care in the EMR.
• Respond to psychiatric crises with de-escalation techniques.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and patient education.
• Implement seclusion and restraint procedures as clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers and the care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and discharge plans.
• Promote patient safety, recovery and positive outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions.
• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.

• Implement seclusion and restraint procedures in accordance with policy when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety, recovery, and positive clinical outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58 per hour. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
