Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males). The role is full-time nights, with 3 x 12-hour shifts from 7p to 7:30a. Hourly rate ranges from $35.35 to $53.58, and a sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates.

You will assess patients, administer medications, document care in the EMR, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safety and positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current and valid State RN license is required.
• Current BLS certification on hire and kept active.
• Working knowledge of mental health laws and treatment standards.
• Experience with inpatient behavioral health units and interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and create individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications and therapies and monitor responses.
• Document care in the EMR and track patient progress.
• Respond to psychiatric crises with evidence‑based de‑escalation techniques.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and educate patients and families.
• Follow seclusion/restraint policies when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, and social workers.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor patient condition and document care in the EMR.
• Respond to psychiatric crises using appropriate de‑escalation and intervention techniques.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide patient education.
• Implement seclusion and restraint procedures in accordance with policy when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety, recovery, and positive clinical outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
