Job summary

Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Missouri is seeking an Registered Nurse for the Behavioral Health - Adult Intensive Unit (Males). This full-time night shift (7p–7:30a) offers a competitive hourly rate and a sign-on bonus.

You will assess patients, administer medications, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patient recovery and safety. The role requires an active RN license, BLS, and knowledge of mental health care standards.

Qualifications

• Current and valid State RN license.
• Active BLS certification on hire.
• Knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Experience with inpatient/outpatient behavioral health units.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies.
• Monitor patient condition and document in EMR.
• Respond to psychiatric crises with de-escalation techniques.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide education.
• Apply seclusion and restraint per policy when indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists and social workers.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with behavioral health and psychiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and develop individualized nursing care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
• Monitor patient condition and document care in the EMR.
• Respond to psychiatric crises using appropriate de-escalation and intervention techniques.
• Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide patient education.
• Implement seclusion and restraint procedures in accordance with policy when clinically indicated.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, physicians, therapists, social workers, and the interdisciplinary care team.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, coping strategies, and discharge planning.
• Promote patient safety, recovery, and positive clinical outcomes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• Must have current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
• Working knowledge of interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
• Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $35.35 to $53.58 per hour.
