Job summary

Lifepoint Health is hiring an RN for our Wilson Medical Center Behavioral Health Unit in North Carolina. In this role, you will assess patients, initiate nursing interventions, and document medical necessity while leveraging crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques.

We offer a commitment bonus of $20,000 and an in-person schedule that supports full patient care responsibilities in a 19-bed unit. A state RN license and accredited nursing degree are required, with BLS/ACLS/PALS needed

Qualifications

• Current state RN license required.
• Degree from accredited nursing school.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
• PALS certification required within six months of hire.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Crisis Intervention and de-escalation techniques.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

More About Our Team

Join our team in a 19-bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit. Staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Mental Health Technicians, Social Work Therapists, Recreational Therapists and Psychiatric Providers. Our unit treats a variety of diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. This role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on providing quality care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

What we're looking for- a compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
