Job summary

Wilson Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Registered Nurse for a 19-bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit. This in-person role supports patients with complex mental health needs and requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The shift is 3x12 hours (7p–7a) with rotating weekends and holidays. Candidates must have an active RN license, a nursing degree, and certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS) with at least 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

  • Current state RN license required.
  • Degree from an accredited nursing school.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • ACLS and PALS certification required within six months of hire.
  • One year of experience in a related setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform thorough patient assessments and identify care needs.
  • Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Crisis intervention and de-escalation as needed.
  • Document medical necessity accurately in the medical record.
  • Complete timely QI assessments and maintain documentation.

Join our team in a 19-bed Adult Behavioral Health Unit. Staffed with Registered Nurses (RNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Mental Health Technicians, Social Work Therapists, Recreational Therapists and Psychiatric Providers. Our unit treats a variety of diagnoses such as Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and Substance Use Disorder (SUD). Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or exacerbations of mental illness. This role offers an opportunity to work collaboratively in a supportive environment focused on providing quality care and support to individuals experiencing behavioral health crises.

  • Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

  • Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions

  • Crisis Intervention and de-escalation techniques

What we\'re looking for- a compassionate nurse with a deep understanding of critical care principles and advanced patient monitoring.

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:



  • Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.

  • ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.

  • One year of experience preferred
