Job summary

Centerpoint - Versailles is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) in PACU to join our perioperative team. This PRN daytime role involves postoperative care in a 25-bed facility under Lifepoint Health, with no call, weekends, or holidays. An RN license in Kentucky and a nursing degree from an accredited program are required.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of Surgery RN experience and 2–4 years critical care, with BLS and ACLS within 30 days of hire. TNCC and specialty certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold an RN license in the state.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program (ASN/BSN) is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and indirect patient care using the nursing process for PACU patients.
• Meet physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of patients and families.
• Communicate changes in patient condition effectively with the health care team.
• Demonstrate flexibility and maintain organization under stress.

Our general surgery staff consists of expert surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and technicians all dedicated to performing successful operations and promoting comfortable healing and recovery. Our most common surgical services consist of endo, ortho, and pain procedures. Due to the high volume of outpatient procedures, our surgery staff do not work weekends or holidays.

• 7 Pre/Op Infusion Rooms
• 2 OR Suites
• 1 Endo Suite
• 1 PACU Bay

How you’ll contribute

Our PACU RN’s provide direct and indirect patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. As a PACU RN you will:

• Meet the physical, psychosocial, religious/cultural needs of the patient and family.
• Communicate effectively with all members of the health care team as appropriate about changes in the patient’s condition or response to treatment.
• Possess basic PC skills.
• Have the ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an associate or bachelor’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• 1-2 years minimum experience as a Surgery RN
• 2-4 years critical care experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of hire
• Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually
• TNCC preferred
• Specialty Certification testing within 1 year of hire and pass within 1.5 years of hire - preferred
