Job summary

Trinity Health's Chelsea Hospital in Chelsea, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Pre-op/PACU unit. You will care for patients before and after surgery, applying nursing processes and relationship-based care to diverse patient populations.

Requires Michigan nursing license; BSN within five years or existing BSN. On-call within 45 minutes and a Day Shift, 72 hours per pay period. Join a supportive team at a nationally recognized health system.

Qualifications

• Requires current Michigan Nursing License.
• Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• BSN degree or willingness to obtain BSN within five years.
• ICU and/or Prep/PACU experience preferred.
• ACLS and PALS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in Pre-op and PACU before and after surgery.
• Provide patient-centered care applying nursing process and relationship-based care.
• Be available for Day Shift (7am–9am start) and on-call within 45 minutes of hospital.

Education

Michigan Nursing License

BSN degree or willingness to obtain BSN within 5 years

Graduation from accredited nursing program

ICU/Prep/PACU experience preferred

ACLS, PALS preferred

Position Purpose:

Nurses in the Pre-op and PACU department care for patients before and after their surgical procedure. In our Operating Room at Chelsea, more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually in the fields of gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.

The Registered Nurse Provides quality patient centered care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs through competent clinical practice and application of the nursing process. They consistently integrate concepts of relationship-based care into practice and serves as a clinical and educational resource to others on the unit.

Shift Available: Day Shift – Varying Start Times between 7am and 9am

Status Available: Full time, benefit eligible (72 hours per pay period – every two weeks)

On call requirement – must be within 45 minutes of hospital when on call

Required Qualifications

• Requires current Michigan Nursing License
• ICU and/or Prep/PACU experience preferred.
• ACLS, PALS preferred
• Graduation from accredited nursing program
• New hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years
• Canadian Nurses are encouraged to apply
