ChristianaCare's Postpartum Unit in Newark, DE seeks a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shift on 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

The unit uses a couplet care model, assigning the delivered parent and newborn to one RN, with rooming-in and family-centered care. Opportunities include caring for newborns in the substance withdrawal program and nursing in a 72-bed unit.

Qualifications

• BSN is required or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• Experience in women’s & children’s services preferred.
• Two years of Acute Care experience strongly preferred.
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware.
• BLS certification required.
• NRP preferred or must be obtained upon hire.
• The following professional certifications are recognized and encouraged in this patient care area include: RNC-MNN, RNC-OB

Responsibilities

• Provide care for postpartum patients and their newborns.
• Support rooming-in and family-centered care.
• Maintain nursery for emergency management or short-term convalescent care.
• Support care of newborns in the substance withdrawal program

Education

Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Partum

Full Time | 12-hour Shifts Night Shift (Hours: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Weekend & Holiday commitment Newark, DE

The ChristianaCare Postpartum Unit (6M/7M) is a 72-bed inpatient unit that cares for postpartum patients and their stable newborns in the Women’s and Children’s Building on the Newark campus. The average length of stay is 2-3 days post birth and the unit supports rooming in and family centered care. A couplet care model is utilized so that an RN will be assigned both the delivered parent as well as the newborn as a portion of their overall assignment. A nursery is maintained primarily for emergency management or for short term convalescent care. Postpartum staff also support the care of newborns in our substance withdrawal program.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• BSN required or commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire
• Experience in women's & children’s services preferred
• Two years of Acute Care experience strongly preferred
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware
• BLS certification required
• NRP preferred or must be obtained upon hire
• The following professional certifications are recognized and encouraged in this patient care area include: RNC-MNN, RNC-OB

Hourly Pay Range: $42.11 - $67.37This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
