RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Coronary Care Unit at the New Brunswick campus. This Day shift, part-time position focuses on adult cardiac and telemetry patients in a 31-bed unit.

The role requires NJ RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and an associate degree with a preference for a Bachelor's degree. Experience in MED-SURG/telemetry, EPIC EMR, and commitment to evidence-based practice are valued.

The Post Coronary Care Unit (5 Tower) is a 31-bed telemetry unit. Nursing care is provided to adult cardiac and acute care medical surgical patients ages 18 years through the lifespan. Patients cared for on this unit include, but are not limited to post cardiac catheterization, post device placement, heart failure, and management and care of adult cystic fibrosis. Patient care includes frequent physical assessments, post operative care, administration of blood products, dressing changes, chest physiotherapy, and selected respiratory treatments.

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. An Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification is required. 1 year of previous experience as a skilled medical/surgical-telemetry nurse is preferred. An Associate’s degree in Nursing is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is Day Shift, 36 hours per week, 7am-7:30pm.
