RWJBarnabas Health's Cardio Progressive Care Unit at New Brunswick is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time day shift. The 34-bed unit handles telemetry, medical-surgical, and intermediate care for post-procedural and cardiac patients.

The RN will assess patients, administer medications, document in EPIC, and educate families while collaborating with physicians and the care team. NJ RN licensure with BLS is required; BSN preferred, and ACLS is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
• At least 1 year of acute care RN experience required.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing strongly preferred or to be completed within 5 years of hire.
• National Board Certification and ACLS preferred or to be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Prior 2-3 years of RN experience in acute care is highly preferred.
• Comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC.

As a Registered Nurse within the Cardio Progressive Care Unit at RWJ University Hospital New Brunswick, you will help advance patient care and strengthen the experience of individuals and families across our organization. Cardiac Progressive Care Unit ( 6 Tower) is a busy 34 bed cardiac unit. We see a range of telemetry, medical-surgical, and intermediate care patient acuities. Types of patients we care for include post cardiac procedures, sepsis, dialysis, heart failure, and respiratory failure. We specialize in post heart transplantation, LVADs and Heart Failure. All of which we are happy to train you for so no previous experience required.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), a typical day may include:

• Conducting comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, using your judgment to intervene early and advocate for your patients
• Providing safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands on care grounded in strong clinical judgment
• Serving as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers, offering insight that supports timely, well-coordinated care decisions
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients and families so they feel informed, supported, and prepared for the next phase of care
• Ensuring accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety
• Contributing your voice during interdisciplinary rounds, helping drive seamless communication and smooth transitions of care
• Taking an active role in a highly collaborative team environment where shared accountability and teamwork directly impact outcomes

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS Certification with at least 1 year of acute care RN experience required.
