Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Night shift at the RWJ New Brunswick facility in New Jersey. The role requires an active NJ RN license, ACLS and BLS certifications, and at least 2 years in Surgical or Med/Surg units.

This is a part-time position in the Surgical Unit-II, 7pm-7:30am, with pay range $49.03–$72.39 per hour. Knowledge of EPIC EMR is preferred; a BSN is strongly preferred and a solid history of compassionate, evidence-based patient care is essential.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS certification required.
• At least 2 years of Surgical or Med/Surg RN experience.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications and hands-on care.
• Act as a clinical partner to physicians and advanced providers.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and readiness for next care steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC).
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and support seamless transitions of care.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. An Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification and at least 2 years of Surgical or Med/Surge RN experience are required. An Associate’s degree in Nursing is also required. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience and comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. This position is Night Shift, 36 hours per week, 7pm-7:30am.
