Job summary

Haywood Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking an RN for our 22-bed PCU/Telemetry unit. You will cover 3x12s on the night shift (7p-7a) with weekends and holidays. The team delivers high‑quality care to respiratory and cardiac patients using advanced cardiac monitoring.

The role emphasizes accurate assessments, timely interventions, and comprehensive charting. Certifications required within set timelines; sign-on bonus offered for eligible night-shift candidates.

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina or compact state RN license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school.
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS and PALS certifications required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, judgment, and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify patient needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to patient condition and age.
• Document medical necessity timely and accurately in the patient record.
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient.
• Complete timely QI assessments.

More About Our Team

Join our team in a 22-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Telemetry unit with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:5. We are staffed with RNs, CNAs, Telemetry Techs, and unit secretaries, providing specialized care for patients primarily diagnosed with respiratory failure and cardiac conditions. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, utilizing advanced cardiac monitoring technology to deliver high‑quality patient care and ensure optimal outcomes for our diverse patient population.

How You’ll Contribute

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Provide care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments

What We’re Looking For

• Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support certification required within 30 days of hire
• AHA ACLS and PALS certification required within six months of hire
• One year of experience preferred
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work under pressure and act appropriately
