The Staff Pad is partnering with a leading healthcare system in Wausau, WI to recruit Registered Nurses for a newly expanded Cardiac Tower and Progressive Care Unit (PCU).

This role emphasizes high-acuity, cardiothoracic and post-surgical care, with hands-on learning, supportive teamwork, and room to grow for both new graduates and experienced RNs.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Wisconsin or compact-state eligibility.
• Interest in cardiac, high-acuity, or critical care nursing.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS preferred; training may be available if needed.
• New graduates and experienced RNs are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate care to complex cardiothoracic and post-surgical patients
• Monitor high-acuity patients and recognize changes in condition
• Manage IV drips, chest tubes, central lines, and advanced telemetry
• Respond quickly and appropriately to changes in patient status
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Deliver patient-centered care focused on quality outcomes
