Inova Mount Vernon Hospital in Alexandria, VA is seeking a full-time PACU Nurse Supervisor to oversee perianesthesia care for PACU patients, including those undergoing electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and gastroenterology procedures.

Qualifications

• RN license to practice in Virginia (AHA BLS required).
• One year of nursing experience required.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited program within one year of eligibility.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Specialty certification within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee perianesthesia care for PACU patients, including ECT and GI procedures.
• Supervise PACU unit operations and staffing.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
• Mentor and lead PACU nursing staff.

Inova Mount Vernon is looking for a full-time PACU Nurse Supervisor. This role also oversees perianesthesia care for electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) and gastroenterology procedure patients.

Schedule

Weekdays (four 10-hour shifts) to cover unit hours 6.30a-5.30p ; minimal on-call responsibilities

Mount Vernon is a community hospital with 8 OR suites that serves the population in robotics, general, orthopedics, spine, plastics, ENT, urology, and gynecology. The OR functions 24/7 with the support of call team on off-shifts and holidays. It is a fast- paced environment that focuses on strong teamwork and patient safety.

PACU Unit Supervisor Qualifications

• One year of nursing experience is required
• Degree from an accredited school of nursing, BSN, or ADN within one year of BSN completion
• RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required from AHA
• Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

PACU Unit Supervisor Preferred Qualifications

• RN with at least 2 years of PACU-to include PreOp, phase 1 and 2 recovery
• Prior leadership experience to include charge, supervisory or management
