Job summary

Hartford Hospital is seeking a PACU RN to join a brand new 10 bay PACU unit delivering 24/7 post‑operative care for diverse surgical cases. You will recover patients from general and regional anesthesia, including cases with IV and sedation, and contribute to cross‑disciplinary care workflows.

The role requires teamwork, autonomy, and strong critical thinking. CT RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications are required; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License.
• BSN preferred; hospital experience in PACU/ICU is a plus.
• ACLS and BLS certification required or maintained.

Responsibilities

• Recover patients from general and regional anesthesia in the PACU.
• Support interdepartmental workflows and patient care coordination.
• Collaborate with anesthesia, surgery, and nursing teams to ensure safe post‑operative care.

Job Summary

Exciting opportunity to become a member of the new Bliss Building PACU team! Come join us in developing and growing a brand new 10 bay PACU unit that will provide 24/7 post-operative care to patient populations of a variety of surgical and interventional procedures and services. The PACU RN recovers patients from general and regional anesthesia along with IV, conscious sedation requiring acute and ICU level of care. This position requires teamwork, autonomy, communication, and critical thinking skills, as well as collaboration, innovation, flexibility and amenability as we work with all disciplines to establish and facilitate interdepartmental work flows and relationships.

Qualifications

• Current Connecticut RN License
• Graduate of accredited nursing school with BSN preferred
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required
• PACU and/or ICU experience preferred
• Training program available and required for step-down and Emergency Department experienced RN
