Job summary

Inova Mount Vernon is seeking a Full Time Perianesthesia (PACU) Nurse to join its perioperative team. The role covers PreOp, Phase 1 and Phase 2, with a 36-hour weekly schedule based on unit needs (4x9s) from 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM, Monday to Friday, including on-call requirements for off-shift coverage, holidays, and weekends.

The PACU has 13 bays and supports a diverse surgical population across multiple specialties.

Qualifications

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing; if RN has an ADN, must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in Virginia; ACLS, PALS, BLS certifications from the American Heart Association.
• 2 years plus PACU/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients in PreOp, Phase 1 and Phase 2 depending on patient needs.
• Work in a fast-paced PACU environment with on-call coverage to support off-shift times, holidays and weekends.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and timely recovery.

Inova Mount Vernon is looking for Full Time Perianesthia (PACU) Nurse.Schedule is 36 hrs/week-based on unit needs- 4x9 to cover 5:30 AM to 9:00 PM, M-F with on call requirement to support off-shift times, holidays and weekends.

The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) has 13 bays (10 phase 1s & 3 phase 2s) that serve a diverse surgical population including, general, spine, orthopedic, robotics, urology, plastics, gynecology, breast, podiatry, vascular, ENT and ECT procedures. The PACU team members are self-motivated, hardworking and a proficient group of nurses. Nurses care for patients in PreOp, Phase 1 and Phase 2 depending on patient needs.

RN PACU Qualifications:

• One year of critical care (ICU or ED) or PACU RN experience is required.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN license to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• ACLS, PALS, BLS healthcare provider certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• 2 years plusPACU/Critical Care experience preferred.
