Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) at Texas Children's Outpatient Specialty Care clinic at the Bellaire location. The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment and provides direct and telephone nursing care, health teaching, patient advocacy, supervision, and care coordination, including services outside the ambulatory setting, in an age- and developmentally appropriate manner.

“As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.”

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Associate's Degree with current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or Technical diploma with current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreement, or working toward an MSN in a nursing bridge program.
  • Verified BSN-equivalency or signed agreement required.
  • Current licensure with the Texas Board of Nursing or Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • At least 1 year of professional nursing experience.
Responsibilities
  • Use evidence-based assessment techniques to gather patient, family, or population-specific data.
  • Develop and update individualized care plans for health promotion, management, or situational issues.
  • Prioritize and implement interventions in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team.
  • Reevaluate and follow up on care based on patient needs and requests.
  • Incorporate family and caregiver participation in care planning.
  • Use ongoing data to revise diagnoses, outcomes, and care plans as needed.
  • Demonstrate patient advocacy and collaborate with the healthcare team.
