Job summary

Lifepoint Health® invites applications for a Registered Nurse (RN) in our Outpatient Services SDS at Highpoint Health Sumner. This full-time day shift role focuses on delivering direct patient care within the Same Day Surgery setting, following nursing processes and standards.

The RN will participate in care planning, patient education, and coordination with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient patient flow and positive outcomes. Strong clinical skills and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in state of practice (required).
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of Medical/Surgical or Surgery Nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process in Same Day Surgery.
• Adhere to applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes.

How You'll Contribute

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice in Same Day Surgery.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Licensure/Certifications: Current RN license in state of practice
• BCLS required; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• 1 year of experience in Medical/Surgical or Surgery Nursing - Preferred

Skills: Critical thinking and decisive judgment; ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; proficiency navigating multiple clinical software systems; effective English communication (read, write, speak, and understand); ability to complete Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
