Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plans of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments; documents care.
• Monitors and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient and family.
• Preps and positions patients for procedures; manages supplies and communicates with physician during procedures.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care including transfers, discharge and referrals.
• Educates patient and family according to age and culture.
• Advocates for the patient’s physical and emotional well-being.
• Prepares and cleans OR suites, maintains equipment and supplies, ensures timely patient in the surgical suite.
• Takes call as required.

How you'll contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinicaltreatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, andfamily.
• Positions and preps patients correctly for procedures, assesses and monitors patient during procedure,provides an accounting for all supplies during and after procedure, communicates effectively with physicianthroughout procedures.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge,referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age,culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Prepares and cleans OR suites, handles and maintains equipment and supplies, sets up sterile supplies forprocedures, and has patient in surgical suite on time.
• Required to take call.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess an Associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: BCLS upon completion of hospital orientation; ACLS and PALS within six months of hire or transfer date to position.
• Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Experience: One-year previous experience preferred.
• Licenses: Must have a current Utah state license or Compact License with Utah endorsement
• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
