Doctors Medical Center of Modesto, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver direct patient care in the surgical environment, from pediatric to geriatric populations.

The RN will monitor physiological status in the operative period and coordinate with surgeons and anesthesiologists to ensure optimal patient management and homeostasis.

Up to $10,000 Sign-On bonus based on experience

Job Type: Full Time

Shift: Rotate

Reporting to the Director of Surgical Services/Operations Coordinator/Shift Manager/Designee, the Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to pediatric through geriatric patient populations. Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. The RN is responsible for monitoring the patient's physiological status in the immediate operative period. Communicates with the surgeon and anesthesiologist about patient conditions and receives direction for patient management. Intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis.

Minimum Education: BSN preferred

Minimum Experience/Skills: 2 years+ of Surgery experience required

License/Certificates/Credentials:

• Current California RN license
• Current BLS
• ACLS within nine months (within one year for new graduates)
• PALS within one year
• TCAR required within 12 months of hire/transfer.

Physical Demands:

• Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing/walking
• Lift/position up to 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 50 lbs of force.
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
• Manual dexterity and mobility
• Ability to move quickly

Vision Requirements: Ability to adjust vision sufficiently to perform position accountabilities

Working Conditions:

• Regularly exposed to the risk of contagious and blood borne diseases
• Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
• Exposure to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, illness) and emergency and crisis situations
• Subject to irregular hours
• Occasional exposure to radiation hazards, radioactive substances and biohazard material
