Overview
  • Location: Janesville, Wisconsin
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 5 x 8-hour shifts between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 p.m.
  • Call response time: 30 minutes
  • Night shift rotation: Minimum of 2 years, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
  • Work environment: Diverse, team-based OR at Janesville Hospital, functioning as a high-level trauma facility, staffed 24/7 with specialties including Cardiac, Orthopedics, Neurology, and more.

Responsibilities
  1. Utilize the nursing process collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members.
  2. Administer medications and treatments per policies, procedures, and legal standards.
  3. Document patient care accurately.
  4. Perform comprehensive assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations.
  5. Develop and execute individualized patient care plans, including patient and family education.
  6. Participate in performance improvement activities and shared governance.
  7. Support the patient's longitudinal care plan using clinical expertise.
  8. Prioritize patient safety and experience, escalating issues appropriately.
  9. Engage in professional development, peer review, and unit practice activities.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; ADN required, BSN preferred.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice.
  • CPR/BLS certification within 90 days of hire; additional certifications like ACLS, PALS may be required.
  • Must pass background checks and drug screening as applicable.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions; physical ability to perform job functions.
Work Environment & Additional Info

Moderate noise level; potential occupational exposure. Care for diverse patient age groups, from neonates to geriatrics. Access to patient information is permitted for job duties. Interaction with staff, physicians, patients' families, visitors, and vendors is expected. Physical demands vary by role but may include lifting up to 100 pounds and performing physically demanding tasks. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, and color vision.
