Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.

Full time, Days (with call). Schedule Options: Five 8-hour shifts (7am - 3:30pm) or Two 8-hour shifts (7am - 3:30pm) & Two 12-hour shifts (7am - 7:30pm) per week.

Inova Alexandria Hospital is a beautiful 318-bed community hospital with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites, offering a wide range of surgical specialties and endoscopy services.

Qualifications

• Experience: minimum 1 year of direct Operating Room RN work.
• Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school; ADN requires BSN within 5 years.
• License: Must be licensed in Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments and interprets data.
• Develops individualized care plans based on assessments.
• Supports patients and families through care transitions.
• Advocates for patients and provides counseling to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients and families.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements:

• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.

Preferred Experience & Certification:

• Experience with the following cases: Trauma, Ortho, Neuro, Robotics
• Scrubbing experience
• AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
