Inova Health's Inova Fairfax Medical Campus Women’s Operating Room is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. Full-time Day Shift: 10 or 12 hour shifts, Monday–Friday with minimal call for weekday nights and Inova observed holidays.

The Women’s OR performs a range of gynecologic and robotic procedures in a state‑of‑the‑art environment, serving ambulatory, same-day, and in-patient cases with diverse scheduling and cross‑specialty opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of direct OR experience as RN.
• Multi-specialty trained OR nurse preferred.
• BSN or ADN from an accredited school; BSN within 5 years if ADN.
• Virginia RN license required; BLS certification.

Responsabilités

• Perform comprehensive patient health assessments and synthesize data.
• Develop individualized care plans based on assessments.
• Support patients and families through the healthcare continuum.
• Advocate for patients' rights and provide counseling to resolve issues.
• Address ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs and guide learning for patients.

Job Description

Inova Fairfax Medical ’s Women’s Operating Room is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team.

Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.

Work Schedule

Full time Day Shift: offering 10hr or 12hr shifts

Scheduled shifts are Monday - Friday with minimal call requirements to cover weekday nights, weekends, and Inova observed Holidays.

The Women’s Operating Room

The Women's Operating Room (Women’s OR) has eight fully functional, state of the art operating rooms that provide care to patients scheduled for General Gynecology, Gynecological Oncology, Urological Gynecology, and Robotic procedures. Other surgical specialties patients may be scheduled for, in conjunction with Gyn surgery, include Urology, General, Colorectal, and Plastics. Each operating room is similarly equipped so that any surgical procedure can be performed in any room.

The patient acuity cared for in the Women’s OR consists of ambulatory, same day admission, and in-patient cases, but patients may also come from the Emergency Room, outside facilities, and directly from home or physician’s offices.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.

Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements

• Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Preferred Experience: Multi-specialty trained Operating Room nurse & AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion
• Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
