Job summary

HCA Florida St. Petersburg Hospital is seeking a Post-Partum Registered Nurse to care for mothers and mom/baby pairs in a high-acuity Mom Baby Department. You will provide clinical expertise, support patient education, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

The role emphasizes nursing excellence, timely documentation, and adherence to physician orders, with opportunities to participate in hospital councils and nursing initiatives.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license or compact licensure; active FL RN within 60 days if compact licensure.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• NRP certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• BSN preferred; ASN/Diploma required for entry.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene and evaluate care for mothers and mom/baby pairs after delivery.
• Instruct patients and families on medications and treatment instructions.
• Maintain and review patient records, posting tests and results.
• Administer medications per physician orders.

Job Summary And Qualifications

We are seeking a Post-Partum Registered Nurse for our Mom Baby Department. You will provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care in a high acuity environment. What you will do in this role:

• You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of mothers and/or mom/baby couplets following delivery/birth.
• You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
• You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

Requirements

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
• Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
