Job summary

Horizon Health, in partnership with Mercy Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a full-time night shift in a behavioral health setting. You will provide patient care using the nursing process under supervision of licensed prescribers or an RN, maintain privacy and rights, and coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires an active RN license, a nursing degree, and BLS certification (or completion within 30 days).

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active RN license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or within 30 days of hire.
• Unit-specific certifications as required by position.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for psychiatric patients.
• Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to interventions.
• Provide patient and family education to support understanding of treatment plans and recovery goals.
• Promote safety by implementing de-escalation strategies, crisis intervention, and adherence to safety protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
• Oversee nursing staff.

Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

• Active RN license

• CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment &Care Modules
• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
