Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood, NJ is seeking a day shift, full-time Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. The RN will care for neonatal patients, coordinate care with physicians and support staff, and report to the Nurse Manager.

Requires NJ RN licensure, NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program, BLS within 14 days of hire, NRP or ARC certification, and 1–2 years NICU experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
• NLN/AACN-accredited nursing program completed.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• NRP Certification or ARC certification is required.
• 1–2 years NICU or Special Care Nursery nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU to achieve desired outcomes.
• Supervise and coordinate care provided by other caregivers through delegation and evaluation.
• Coordinate patient care and unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support staff.
• Report to the Nurse Manager on duties and patient status.

• Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.

Responsibilities:

• The RN Staff Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population in order to achieve desired outcomes.


• This position directs and oversees the care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.


• This position effectively coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians, and support services.


• The RN Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager.

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.


• Graduate of an NLN/AACN-accredited program in nursing


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care


• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification or the American Red Cross (ARC)


• 1-2 years NICU or Special Care Nursery nursing experience

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Neonatal Nursing certification

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
