Job summary

Backus Hospital in Connecticut seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide patient care using the nursing process and to build a strong nurse-patient relationship. The role requires assessing patient needs, planning care, implementing, and evaluating outcomes on a 7:00pm–7:30am rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays.

Education includes nursing school graduation with BSN/MSN preferred. Prior RN experience and/or completion of the hospital Nurse Residency Program is valued,

Qualifications

• One (1) year RN experience and/or completion of Nurse Residency Program.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical competence using the nursing process.
• Develops and evaluates plans of care for patients.

JOB SUMMARY

Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, implements and evaluates care provided to patients.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a school of nursing. BSN or MSN preferred.

Experience: One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of The William W. Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program.Two (2) or more years experience in this specific clinical area preferred.

License and Certification

• Current unrestricted License in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 60 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain department specific certifications.
• Registered Nurse Core Certification (RNC - NIC or CCRN) preferred.
