Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neuro Science unit on nights. The role offers 12-hour shifts (3x12) with every-other-weekend rotation and a $20,000 commitment incentive.

You\'ll contribute to patient assessments, care plans, and interdisciplinary collaboration, delivering high-quality neuro/ortho care for a diverse patient population.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license is required in NC.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required within six months of hire.
• 1-2 years of Neuro/Ortho RN experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs.
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient.
• Performs timely and accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments.

The RN Neuro Science unit at Frye Regional Medical Center is a 20- Bed unit with a patient population including, but not limited to, spine/ neck/ head surgery, stroke and seizure. The unit offers self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses gain valuable experience caring for a diverse patient population while working alongside experienced leaders and a strong interdisciplinary team.

How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Active North Carolina RN license (single-state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins.
• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS are required within six months of hire.
• 1-2 years of Neuro/ Ortho RN experience preferred
