Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Nephrology Oncology in a full-time night-shift role (3x12 hours). The 17-bed unit offers self-scheduling and a collaborative environment focused on nephrology and cancer care.

You will assess patients, implement nursing interventions, document medical records, and contribute to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan while ensuring quality care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify needs.
• Initiate appropriate nursing interventions.
• Provide care appropriate to condition and age.
• Document medical necessity in the medical record.
• Contribute to and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
• Complete timely QI assessments.

The Nephrology / Oncology department at Frye Regional Medical Center offers a supportive and stable work environment, caring for adult medical-surgical patients with a strong focus on nephrology and cancer care. This 17- Bed unit features self-scheduling, 12-hour shifts, and every-other-weekend rotation, helping promote flexibility and work-life balance. Nurses in this unit benefit from a collaborative team culture, and the opportunity to gain diverse clinical experience.

How you'll contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN)who excels in this role:

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs

• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions

• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient

• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record

• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient

• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
