Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Greater Manchester Region is recruiting a NICU-focused nurse to provide direct and indirect patient-centered care. The role requires a Connecticut RN license, BLS and NRP certifications within one year of hire, and NICU experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Connecticut.
• BLS and NRP certification required within 12 months of hire.
• NICU experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality direct and indirect patient-centered care.
• Coordinate patient care by collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, patients and families.
• Communicate patient condition and changes promptly to the team and families.
• Provide age-appropriate care across the life span for the patient population served.

POSITION SUMMARY

Utilizing the nursing process, provides high quality direct and indirect patient‑centered care. Coordinates patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, patients and families. Communicates, as appropriate, the patient’s clinical condition, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age‑appropriate care to the patient population served. Promotes the profession of nursing and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current licensure in the State of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in BLS and NRP upon hire or receive all certifications within a year after hire date and maintain clinical competency during employment with HHC in this role.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous NICU experience required.
