Job summary

The Hospital of Central Connecticut, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks a Registered Nurse to work in the NICU within the Family Birth Place. You will provide evidence-based nursing care to newborns in a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include CT RN license, BLS, and a nursing degree; one year of RN experience with 1000+ hours; strong communication and ability to precept and support colleagues.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.
• One year of experience with at least 1000 hours of clinical nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for a full patient assignment with expanding responsibilities over time.

We are looking for a Registered Nurse to work in the NICU in the Family Birth Place. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is staffed by a multidisciplinary care team that includes board-certified neonatologists (pediatricians specializing in the care of premature and sick newborns); certified pediatric physician assistants; and neonatal nurses.

Job Summary

Under the general direction of Nursing Leadership and in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, the Registered Nurse utilizes evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, and policies and procedures of the hospital. This position develops a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced population of patients, which includes standards of practice to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of the patient and family.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Associate’s degree in Nursing.
• Successful completion of nurse residency, if applicable.

Experience

• One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse.

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• Registered Nurse, State of CT
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Additional certifications may be required in specific specialties

Language Skills

• Must be able to effectively communicate information in English.
