Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a NICU nurse to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced neonatal unit in Manchester, CT. You will join a collaborative team delivering direct and indirect nursing care in alignment with our standards.

Requirements include CT RN licensure, BLS, and NRP (within one year). Previous NICU experience is required, with opportunities for professional growth across Hartford HealthCare’s network.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with CT licensure.
• BLS certification required; NRP within 1 year of hire.
• NICU experience required.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Apply the nursing process to deliver direct and indirect patient-centered care.
• Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary team, patients, and families.
• Communicate patient condition promptly and clearly to the care team.
• Demonstrate growth and development knowledge across the life span to care for relevant populations.

Utilizing the nursing process, provides high quality direct and indirect patient–centered care. Coordinates patient care by working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, patients and families. Communicates, as appropriate, the patient’s clinical condition, responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the patient population served. Promotes the profession of nursing and professional practice through collegial support and interactions. Reports to the Clinical Nurse Manager.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing with a current licensure in the State of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in BLS and NRP upon hire or receive all certifications within a year after hire date and maintain clinical competency during employment with HHC in this role.
