Qualifications

About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) provides specialized care for premature and sick newborns, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive care plans. What You'll Do

• Develop a plan of care for complex, multi-varianced patient populations.
• Utilize evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient and family needs.
• Provide care for a full patient assignment with expanding responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions.
• Act as a preceptor and charge nurse as needed.
• Manage and organize multiple clinical priorities.

Requirements

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's degree in Nursing required

Experience:

• One year of experience with a minimum of 1000 hours of clinical experience as a licensed registered nurse

Licenses & Certifications:

• Registered Nurse, State of CT
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)
