Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital is seeking a Perinatal Clinical Nurse in the Mother/Baby Couplet Unit. You will deliver skilled, compassionate care to mothers and neonates, assess evolving conditions, and develop care plans in collaboration with the nursing team.

The role offers part-time 24 hours or full-time 36 hours per week, with benefits including relocation assistance, retirement plans, and free parking for associates. BLS/ACLS and DC RN license required.

Qualifications

• ADN/BSN/MSN or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• At least two years of recent hospital-based Mother/Baby clinical nursing experience; high-risk experience preferred.
• Active DC RN license and BLS required.

About the Job

Join the nationally recognized Mother/Baby Nursing team at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

The Perinatal Department at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital consists of a Labor & Delivery/Inpatient Antepartum Suite along with a Mother-Baby Couplet Postpartum Unit. Perinatal nurses assess the mother and neonate in a family-centered, holistic environment that supports the new family during this time of changing needs. MedStar Georgetown is a regional referral center for high-risk mothers and infants, and enjoys a supportive and cooperative relationship with our outstanding Level IV NICU to provide excellent continuity of care for these families. Perinatal nurses collaborate with parenting services, antepartum/postpartum patient educators and lactation specialists to provide comprehensive patient and family education. Our diverse patient population includes both medically complex and uncomplicated patients. Perinatal nurses enjoy participating in collaborative governance at the unit and hospital level and are encouraged to attend a wide variety of educational opportunities, including AWHONN regional and national conferences.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse on the Postpartum Mother/Baby Couplet Unit, you will provide skilled, compassionate care to patients and families across a spectrum of needs-from routine to highly complex. You will assess evolving patient conditions, identify actual and potential health concerns, and develop appropriate care plans. Interventions may be delivered directly or coordinated through collaboration with other members of the nursing team.

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required. BSN preferred.
• At least two years of recent, hospital-based Mother/Baby Clinical Nursing (RN) Experience required. High risk experience preferred.
• Active DC RN License and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross).

USD $42.00 - USD $69.42 /Hr.
