Job summary
Avita Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MedSurg Weekend Warrior role. The position will float between Avita Bucyrus, Galion, and Ontario hospitals and supports weekend coverage in the MedSurg Department.
The ideal candidate will have licensure in Ohio, 2+ years of nursing experience, and current BLS & ACLS certification. The role emphasizes patient advocacy, teaching, and collaboration with the care team.
Qualifications
- Two (2) or more years of nursing experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS & ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of patients within the nursing unit.
- Ensure continuity of care between shifts by providing direct care and supervising nursing assistants, LPNs and supportive staff.
- Participates in patient and family teaching and advocates for patients within the organization’s mission.

We’re currently seeking dedicated Registered Nurse (RN)s Weekend Warriors to join our MedSurg Department. This position will float between our 3 hospitals.
Position Overview
Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients within the nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring continuity of care of the patients between shifts by providing direct care as well as supervising the care given by nursing assistants, LPNs and supportive staff members. Participates in patient and family teaching. Maintains role as patient advocate with a focus on the organization’s mission.
Qualifications
Required:
- Two (2) or more years of previous nursing experience.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
- Current BLS & ACLS certification.
Preferred:
- Critical Care Experience highly preferred
- Previous telemetry experience.
- PALS certification. (For charge trained nurses.)
