Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC, part of Lifepoint Health, is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical Department. This full-time night shift offers a sign-on bonus up to $20,000.

The Medical Unit provides care for pneumonia, stroke, cancer and other conditions; you will plan and deliver nursing care using the nursing process and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifikationen

• Current NC RN license (or compact) in good standing.
• ASN from accredited nursing program.
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• PALS, ACLS and Handle with Care preferred.
• If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new PSOR before employment begins.

• Plans and delivers nursing care, including meds, specimens, and treatments.
• Documents care and monitors patient condition with the care team.
• Assists with ADLs: hygiene, elimination, nutrition, ambulation.
• Coordinates transfers, discharges, referrals, and care needs.

• Advocates for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
• Engages in performance improvement and ongoing education.
• Maintains reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

The Medical Unit at Maria Parham is committed to going above and beyond for each patient to help them recover from illness. We want your experience to be as healing as possible as a result of this high level of care. Our 25-bed unit provides comprehensive care and treatment for patients with a variety of medical conditions, such as pneumonia, stroke, cancer, pulmonary conditions and infections, wound infections and/or digestive system disorders.

The Surgical Unit is a12-bed inpatient unit located on the 3rd floor of the patient tower. The unit is staffed by nurses specially trained in caring for pre- and post-operative surgical patients. The nursing team consists of 100% registered nurses and certified nursing assistants, with expertise in orthopedics, urology, and general surgery.The Surgical Unit provides compassionate care before and after your procedure. Nurses guide patients through the preparation process and provide the attentive care needed for a smooth recovery following surgery. The team takes pride in treating every patient like family and making each person feel supported, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their stay.

Summary:

Provides direct patient care in the Medical Surgical Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Director or Manager of Medical Surgical Department

How You'll Contribute

A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
• PALS, ACLSand Handle with Care Preferred
• Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
