Maria Parham Health in Henderson, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Medical-Surgical Department on a full-time days schedule (three 12-hour shifts, 7:00 am–7:00 pm). A sign-on/commitment bonus up to $20,000 is offered.

Qualifikationen

• Active North Carolina RN license (or compact license) is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
• PALS and ACLS certifications are preferred.

The Medical Unit at Maria Parham is committed to going above and beyond for each patient to help them recover from illness. We want your experience to be as healing as possible as a result of this high level of care. Our 25-bed unit provides comprehensive care and treatment for patients with a variety of medical conditions, such as pneumonia, stroke, cancer, pulmonary conditions and infections, wound infections and/or digestive system disorders.

The Surgical Unit is a 12-bed inpatient unit located on the 3rd floor of the patient tower. The unit is staffed by nurses specially trained in caring for pre- and post-operative surgical patients. The nursing team consists of 100% registered nurses and certified nursing assistants, with expertise in orthopedics, urology, and general surgery. The Surgical Unit provides compassionate care before and after your procedure. Nurses guide patients through the preparation process and provide the attentive care needed for a smooth recovery following surgery. The team takes pride in treating every patient like family and making each person feel supported, comfortable, and well cared for throughout their stay.

How You'll Contribute

• Provides direct patient care in the Medical Surgical Department using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
• Reports to: Director or Manager of Medical Surgical Department
• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs.
• Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of patients.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina (or compact license)
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)

PALS, ACLS And Handle With Care Preferred

• Active North Carolina RN license (single state) or compact required. If relocating, licensure must be updated to the new Primary State of Residence (PSOR) before employment begins
