Job summary

Trinity Health Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse for the 9E Progressive Care Unit in Ann Arbor. The unit focuses on pulmonary and renal disease, diabetes, and multi-system conditions in a progressive care setting with rotating Day, Evening, and Night shifts.

Full-time and Part-time positions include Every Other Weekend and Every Other Holiday requirements. The role requires Michigan RN licensure, BSN preferred, BLS, and ACLS for select departments.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a nursing program eligible to sit for NCLEX to become an RN.
• BSN preferred.
• Current State of Michigan RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS required for Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency departments.
• Experienced RNs encouraged from Canada; Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• New hires must obtain BSN within five years of hire/transfer to an RN role.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes patient information.
• Develops, implements, evaluates and revises an individualized plan of care.
• Uses teach-back methodology to educate patient and family.
• Actively seeks to prevent potential hospital-acquired conditions.
• Effectively communicates patient status, priority goals and interventions during consultations, rounds and handoffs.
• Follows all HIPAA policies and procedures.
• Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of St. Joseph Mercy Hospitals.

Employment Type: Full time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: Registered Nurse Department: Medicine PCU Location: Trinity Health Ann Arbor Position Purpose: The 9E Progressive Care Unit: Pulmonary disease, renal disease, DM, Chemical dependency, and multi-system organ diseases in a progressive care setting. Shifts Available: Rotating Schedule includes Day, Evening, and Night Shifts Status Available: Full time, Part time Every Other Weekend and Every other Holiday per year required for Full-time and Part-Time team members.

Required Qualifications

• Education Graduation from a school of nursing that results in the ability of the graduate to sit for the NCLEX exam to become licensed as a Registered Nurse.
• BSN preferred.
• Licensure Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• BLS.
• ACLS required for the following departments : Float Pool, Cardiac/Cath Lab, AICU, Emergency
• Experience Experienced Canadian Registered Nurses are encouraged to apply Graduation from accredited nursing program.
• Effective January 1, 2013 all new hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five (5) years from date of hire or transfer to an RN role.
• Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs
• Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
