Job summary

MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC is seeking a Clinical Nurse for the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU). You will deliver proficient nursing care to highly complex medical patients, and collaborate with the medical team to plan and implement interventions.

Unit Highlights

Medical Intensive Care Unit

Our 24-bed adult MICU cares for the most complex critically ill medical patients. MICU nurses are clinical experts in the management of complicated medical problems which include GI bleeds, respiratory failure, renal failure, liver failure, CHF, COPD, DM etc. The nurses on thisunitutilize many advanced therapies, such as continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), post-cardiac-arrest hypothermia protocol, and hemodynamic monitoring. The MICU is proud to have received the Gold Beacon Award for Nursing Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN).

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex. You will identify current and potential complex problems of specific patient populations and critically analyzes trends and changes in patient status and plans appropriate interventions directly or indirectly through other nurses.

Qualifications
