Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units. This 0.9 FTE day shift role requires 36 hours per week, with shifts from 7:00 am to 7:30 pm and every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The unit cares for adults with pneumonia, COPD, asthma, CHF, and tracheostomies. A BSN is preferred but not required if qualified, and licensure in Illinois is required. This role offers a comprehensive benefits package under Advocate Health.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program is required.
  • RN license to practice in the state where employed is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required by the American Heart Association.

  • Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care using the nursing process.
  • Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead efforts to create a safe patient environment and high-quality care across the continuum.

REGISTERED NURSE (RN) – Med Surg/ Telemetry

Where You Will Work: 12 Center is a 34 – bed medical telemetry unit. Our typical patient population includes adults with pneumonia, COPD, asthma, CHF, and tracheostomies. We have two negative pressure isolation rooms and the capability to dialyze up to four patients when necessary. We also provide medical-surgical nursing care for general medical and medical telemetry patients.

We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
What You’ll Do

As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
